The day after José Veiga returned back to Portugal from his vacation is Argentina, SL Benfica should announce the signing of another player. It is said that SL Benfica and Bergessio have come to an agreement, but Racing Avellaneda holds the rights to buy the player until the end of the month. Although they owe Bergessio 5 months worth of salary plus bonuses, apparently they will be coming up with the money to buy his pass and then negotiate directly with Sport Lisboa and Benfica.
Bergessio is a young 22 year old player, very strong and quick, protects the ball very well and will give it his all on the field. Benfica could use another player with his characteristics. He should also meet the approval of Joe Berardo
Another person that is very happy with Bergessio coming to Benfica is Óscar Cardoso. The newly signed Cardoso has been quoted in Argentina as saying that “we will make history in Benfica”, refering to him and Bergessio.
By the way, it seems José Veiga is going to take another short “vacation”, this time to Italy…
