Wow! Another win and another goal in the final few minutes! Benfica beat Paços Ferreira for the first time in many years. Benfica had not won at Paços Ferreira since Camacho first came to Benfica.

Benfica (once again) did not play a good game, but has battled hard and we have had luck on our side. But no team ever won anything without a little help from lady luck.

Benfica won the game 2 to 1 with the game winner coming with only a few minutes left in the game. After Benfica went up in the final minutes of the game, Paços Ferreira would still have time to send one ball against the post on a corner kick.

Camacho once again changed the line-up, and placed Katsouranis on defense, leaving Binya, Rui Costa, Maxi Pereira, Cristian Rodriguez and Nuno Assis at midfield. With Cardozo being the only real forward. Rodriguez would score the first goal of the game on an assist from Rui Costa, who also assisted on the game winner. Maxi Pereira and especially Nuno Assis played a few levels below the rest of the team were the first ones out when Camacho started putting in the subs. Nuno Gomes was the first one off the bench, followed by Di Maria, and then Freddy Adu. The American was a step-up on Di Maria in this game.

This was an important win for Benfica for several reason. Benfica got two points closer to Porto, and it was a moralizing win before a deciding Champions League game against Celtic at Glasgow tomorrow. Lets hope the positive trend continues.
