With over 60000 fans on hand to see the game, Benfica opened with a great opportunity to score, but Nuno Gomes could not put the ball in the goal. After that Porto was just dominating in the first half, and everyone expected the Porto goal to happen at any minute. It came on a good play from Quaresma, but it could have happaned on one or two other occasions beforehand.
It was just a very week effort by Benfica, who´s players seemed tired from the AC Milan game earlier in the week. One of the players that put in a better effort was Nuno Gomes, but he managed to miss three good scoring opportunities, so it was all for nothing.
Cristian Rodriguez was a disappointment for the second game in a row and should have been substituted by Camacho, but ended up staying in the game the full 90 minutes. Luis Filipe was also his horrible self, proving that the good game he played against Milan was a fluke. Camacho should have taken him out instead of Maxi Pereira, but sometimes I don´t know what Camacho is really thinking.
Di Maria and Adu both came into the game, but in the wrong order. The Argentinian player came in before Adu, who only saw about 13 minutes of action. I am beginning to think that Camacho is the only person that hasn´t yet realized that Adu should be getting more playing time than Di Maria, at least at this point in the season.
In the end the final score was more than fair, with a lot of Porto for very little Benfica. After Benfica got to within 4 points of Porto this game was a make or break. We broke. The Portuguese League is decided, at least for now, and Porto is very close to becoming the (very) premature Champion.

Hey man,
Cool site. I’m a benfica fan here in BOston, Ma. Also portuguese but born here. I can’t wait till they get rid of Camacho, he belongs on a team like Pacos de Ferreira not a power like BENFICA
